Prof Abbey Hyde, Dr Jacqueline Burke and Dr. Carmel Davies celebrated at the School Strategy Day

On Thursday 8th June 2023, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems held its annual School Strategy Day. During a celebration lunch the retirements of Prof. Abbey Hyde and Dr. Jacqueline Burke were marked by Head of School and Dean of Nursing, Prof. Fiona Timmins. Prof. Hyde and Dr. Burkes long and dedicated commitment to the pursuit of nursing education was particularly poinant as colleagues reminisced on fond memories past. Both will be missed by the School and we wish them every success and happiness in their well deserved retirements.

In addition, the School took the opportunity to thank Dr. Carmel Davies (pictured top) for her role as Assoc. Dean of Teaching and Learning. Dr. Davies contributed tremendously to the development of the School's policies and procedures. It was also noted Dr. Davies's support and commitment to her role in supporting students and staff during the Covid pandemic and the pivot of the School's teaching to online learning.
