Teacher

Greetings,
I am Dr. Syed Bilal Hussain, an Assistant Professor in Horticulture at the School of Agriculture & Food Science at the esteemed University College Dublin in Ireland. My academic journey has been driven by a profound passion for Horticulture, and I've dedicated my research to areas encompassing fruit production, enhancing fruit quality, primary metabolism, molecular biology, and plant physiology.
Prior to joining UCD, I embarked on a transformative postdoctoral research experience at the Citrus Research and Education Center, University of Florida, USA. Here, I had the privilege of delving into advanced research within the realm of horticulture. In 2020, I successfully earned my PhD degree from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, specializing in Pomology. My doctoral research journey was marked by a deep exploration of the intricacies of fruit science.
In addition, I served as a dedicated lecturer in the Department of Horticulture at Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan, Pakistan. My responsibilities encompassed teaching both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as mentoring aspiring researchers in conducting their experiments.
As I embark on this new chapter at the University College Dublin, I am genuinely excited to be part of the Guangzhou Dublin International College of Life Sciences & Technology (GDIC). My role here extends to nurturing the minds of future horticulturists, equipping them with cutting-edge knowledge that spans the entire spectrum of the horticulture industry, from fundamental principles to real-world applications.
It is my sincere belief that a strong foundation in horticulture not only enriches academic pursuits but also empowers individuals to contribute significantly to the sustainable and ever-evolving field of agriculture. I look forward to engaging with students, colleagues, and fellow researchers in our collective pursuit of excellence.
