This project is multi-disciplinary and brings together expertise from a wide range of disciplines all relevant to the future responses of water, ecology and environment to agents of change, particularly climate, economic and demographic changes. The literature for each of the disciplines is extensive so only a flavour of key ideas from each discipline can be given within the allowable page limit. Importantly, all of these areas influence each other forming an interactive dynamic system. While there are gaps in knowledge within each discipline, understanding and being able to model the interactions between the disciplines is a more serious limitation. Ignoring one of the components or its interaction with the others risks losing an important driver or moderator of change and making decisions based on an incomplete dynamic model, an issue to be addressed in this project.
