Hatice Kamali

Hatice Kamalı is a PhD student in the UCD School of History, working on the ERC-funded project ‘CAPITALEAST: Commodification and the Socio-Ecological Transformation of the Middle Eastern Countryside, 1870-1945’ , led by Associate Professor M. Talha Çiçek. Her research focuses on  the wool trade in Ottoman Kurdistan and the region's integration into the global capitalist economy during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She completed her master's degree in the Department of International Ottoman Studies  at İstanbul Medeniyet University and her BA in History with a double major in International Relations  at TOBB University of Economics and Technology.
