Professional Cert in Bioinformatics
Professional Certificate in Bioinformatics
The Professional Certificate in Bioinformatics D058 is a two-week programme which takes place in person only at the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine. The programme coordinator is Professor Mark Crowe. In 2025, the course will run from Monday 14 July and finish on Friday 25 July.
The course will be largely focused on Bioinformatic analysis of the mammalian genome taking RNA Seq and also GWAS data sets and how to do the analysis.
Applicants must commit to attend the full two weeks and must commit to taking the exam on the last day of the course.
You will need to bring your own laptop (no Chromebook).
Important: Five ECTS (for UCD research students) or the professional certificate (for non UCD research students) will only be given upon successful completion of the exam (ie credits/prof cert will not be given just for attendance). This is a normal module/programme and all results will go through an exam board. Exam grades will be released "unofficially" to students after the course ends, but will only be confirmed once they go through the Graduate Taught exam board in September and are officially published to students by the University.
