- RNA, DNA and Plasmid purification.
 - qPCR (relative and absolute), cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis and Nanostring (Transcriptomics laboratory).
 - Familiar with next generation sequencing technologies and SNP analysis.
 - Able to use a range of Bioinformatics tools and genome browsers which enable SNP discovery, haplotype and sequence analysis (Haploview and Arlequin).
 - Development of custom gene panels for SNPs and gene expression (Nanostring) for a range of species and tissue types.
 - Use of Cytoscape and IPA to visualise pathways and networks, interactions between gene lists and network topography.
 - Optimisation and design of primers for qPCR and conventional PCR on an ongoing basis.
 - Use of R programming environment to analyse custom Nanostring panels and use of Linux on the Sonic Computing cluster to analyse Next Generation Sequencing data.
