UCD Veterinary Medicine Graduate Publishes Expert Guide for New Dog Owners

Smiling female veterinarian with a stethoscope around her neck on the left, next to the cover of a book titled 'Puppy Perfect: The Ultimate Guide to Raising the Dog You've Always Wanted' featuring a fluffy puppy sitting in a dog bed with a green dinosaur toy.

The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine is proud to highlight the recent publication of Puppy Perfect: The Ultimate Guide to Raising the Dog You’ve Always Wanted by alumna Dr. Linda Simon (MVB MRCVS). A respected small animal veterinarian based in London, Dr. Simon draws on over 13 years of clinical experience to offer a comprehensive, accessible guide for prospective and new puppy owners.

The book is filled with practical, evidence-based advice, including:

  • How to choose the right puppy to suit your lifestyle
  • Guidance on establishing a healthy and manageable daily routine
  • A step-by-step approach to socialisation, early training, and behaviour shaping

Dr. Simon is well known for her commitment to pet welfare and client education. Alongside her clinical work, she has provided veterinary advice to over 15,000 pet owners through digital platforms, contributed regularly to pet-focused publications, and consulted for leading dog food brands—all while raising a busy family and two dogs of her own.
