Dr Jeremy Auerbach

Team Lead

Dr Auerbach is an assistant professor in the School of Geography in UCD. His main area of research is urban political economy and Participatory Action Research (PAR) in the built environment. Relying on his tremendous experiences in the mentioned areas, Jeremy leads the AMEND team and supports other researchers to undertake a methodologically sound research and deliver meaningful social impacts.

Dr Suzanne Linnane

Team Co-Lead

Dr Suzanne Linnane is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Life & Health Sciences at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) and leads the ‘Water, Communities and Development’ theme in the Centre for Freshwater and Environmental Studies in DkIT. Suzanne has worked in the field of safe and sustainable water provision to rural communities for the past fifteen years across Ireland, Europe and Africa and has a number of relevant peer-reviewed publications relating to this work. All of her projects have a strong stakeholder component and involve consultation with relevant parties throughout all stages of the process with a view to sustainability and policy implementation.

Dr Adwoa Serwaa Ofori

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Adwoa Serwaa Ofori’s research background is in African development, focusing on land and rural livelihoods. Her PhD in Geography is from Trinity College Dublin. Her research was entitled ‘The Land of the Chiefs and the Land of the State: What happens after an acquisition in Ghana?’ and comparatively examined the livelihood implications of large-scale land acquisitions within and across rural communities as well as the impacts to the adjacent locality using Ghana as a case study. She also has Masters’ degrees in Water and Environmental Management (Loughborough University UK) and Project Management (the University of Greenwich UK). Her research interests include sustainability, community engagement and rural livelihoods.

Dr Reza Tavangar

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Dr Tavangar is a postdoctoral research fellow in DkIT and a guest lecturer in University College Dublin where he teaches City Planning in the School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy. His main area of research is urban politics, power relations in planning, and discursive-communicative theories of planning. Reza is working with the team to streamline the citizen science component of AMEND and frame a proper communication framework in this component.
