Dublin Simon Appeal Thank You
€2,375 worth of vouchers donated to support those sleeping rough at Christmas.
UCD in the Community would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the members of the UCD university community who generously donated vouchers to UCD's annual appeal for Dublin Simon. Your compassion and kindness has made a difference in the lives of those sleeping rough this Christmas. Together with the TY students from Presentation College Terenure, as part of their Localise volunteering programme, €2,375 worth of vouchers were donated.
The vouchers were handed over to Ciarán King, Dublin Simon Outreach Manager, on the 18 December, 2023, along with handmade cards made by the TY students. Ciarán explained that the vouchers would be used in the run up to Christmas to buy essential items like clothing, food and water. He said it would also give Dublin Simon clients the opportunity to buy their own clothing, in a size and colour that they want, which grants them a huge sense of dignity. These vouchers will support the vital work of the Simon Rough Sleeper Team until May 2024.
