University College Dublin has moved up two places to 47th in the world in the (opens in a new window)2026 QS World Rankings for Sustainability.
This marks the University's third consecutive year in the top 50 universities worldwide for Sustainability. UCD has also moved up one place to 27th in Europe and has placed in the top 30 worldwide for governance on sustainability in the latest rankings.
“Retaining our global top 50 ranking for the third year running, and indeed climbing two places from last year despite the participation of over 2000 universities worldwide, is a testament to the amazing work being done for sustainability throughout UCD,” said UCD Vice President for Sustainability, Professor Tasman Crowe.
“Sustainability is woven into our education, research and operations. It is being promoted by academic and professional staff and students, collaborating with each other and through wide engagement and partnership outside the university.
“We are very well placed to make a substantial contribution towards a more sustainable future and are determined to further develop as a thought and action leader for sustainability through our UCD Sustainability Plan to 2030," he added.
