From car park to wildlife haven: the story of UCD's Upper Lake

University College Dublin’s beautiful Upper Lake used to be a car park.

In this video, UCD Estates Operations Manager Ciarán Bennett explains that the lake is not just a natural amenity teeming with wildlife, but a sustainable urban drainage system too.

We recorded this video during Biodiversity Week (May 16th - 25th) when the campus was basked in gorgeous sunshine.
