Engaging with communities to improve transport in Irish towns

It's always fascinating when a research project completely changes direction following engagement with the local community.

For their sustainable mobility project CONUNDRUM, Dr Rachel McArdle and Dr Dean Phelan of UCD School of Geography initially thought a technological solution like an app would help the town of Enniscorthy to meet its transport needs.

But after meeting with 139 stakeholders over the course of 18 months, they devised a whole new 'framework of solutions' - which they are now preparing to scale up and replicate in two more Irish towns.
