The Office of Research Ethics provides the following assistance currently available for UCD staff and students: 

  • Introduction to Research Ethics in UCD: Please note the following dates for a presentation on research ethics and the processes for submission:
    • 23rd Oct 25 - 10.30, booking now open on HR/My Learning and Development
    • 20th Nov 25 - 14.00,  booking now open on HR/My Learning and Development
    • 19th Feb 26  - 10.30, booking now open on HR/My Learning and Development
    • 26th Mar 26 - 14.00, booking now open on HR/My Learning and Development
    • 23rd April 26 - 10.30, booking now open on HR/My Learning and Development

These presentations are open to staff and booking is via the HR Staff Development booking system.


  • Research Ethics Training on Brightspace
    Two training modules on Research Ethics, are available on Brightspace, namely:
    • Research involving Human Participants
    • The Care and Use of Animals in Research
    These modules are incorporated into the Research Integrity Training on Brightspace.
    To access the Research Ethics training:
    • Log into Brightspace using your UCD Connect credentials
    • Click on "Explore"
    • Search for the module "Research Integrity Training" Or click (opens in a new window)here
    • Click "Enrol"
    • Once enrolled, click on "My Learning" in the top blue bar
    • Scroll down to the unit entitled "Research Ethics" and select the training module you wish to undertake
    • Academic staff need to "View as Student" in order to access the course.
