Presentation Abstract
International research collaborations are important for the advancement of knowledge, fostering
innovation, and addressing challenges among different countries. It is critical to build these
relationships between researchers to access specialized knowledge However, these
collaborations could raise risks of research security, intellectual property and national security
that requires management and mitigation of these risks.
These issues include, but are not limited to, misuse of research data, undue foreign influence,
protecting intellectual property, and export control compliance. The Research Integrity and
Security Office (RISO) at Yale was created to assist faculty and staff continue these critical
international collaborations while ensuring the research enterprise is protected.
