Typhoidland: using the past to inform the present and future of typhoid control

Dr Kirchhelle conducted the research underlying Typhoidland. He curates the Typhoidland exhibitions with Dr Vanderslott. Dr Webster is research associate on the Typhoid, Cockles, and Terrorism project.

  • US (CDC Sencer Museum, Atlanta): exhibition on typhoid and carrier management (“Typhoid Mary”).
  • India (St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore): exhibition on (post-)colonial typhoid control. Local lead: Dr Manjulika Vaz.
  • Ireland (UCD, Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, Dublin Library and City Archive): digital humanities exhibition on public health and bioterrorism.
  • Nepal and Bangladesh (Patan Hospital / Child Health Research Foundation): health engagement.
