Transition to Net 0
Finding evidence-based and just pathways for the energy transition
Through UCD Energy Institute flagship programmes such as ESIPP and NexSys, multidisciplinary researchers are working collaboratively with national and international partners towards net zero carbon, modernised integrated energy systems, while empowering citizens through education, innovation and digitalisation.
Hear from the ExpertsiCRAG, the world leading SFI Research Centre in applied geosciences hosted by UCD, brings experts together to support transition to net zero through applied geoscience, focusing on applications to reduce carbon emissions and provision of alternative energy sources and storage.
Hear from the expertsUCD Researchers and partners are developing innovative ways to reduce energy related environmental impacts across areas such as transport, residential buildings and construction. Projects like iChange and Dublin Bike Library are making a real impact in the community.
Learn moreThe research outputs from Energy Systems Integration Partnership Programme (ESIPP) present key findings from the mulitdisciplinary team's research (2015-2022) around the energy transition. The papers give insights into topics such as Ireland’s offshore wind potential, energy optimisation in buildings, wastewater management, data centre efficiency, approaches to a just transition, and the need for a national hydrogen strategy. Following on from ESIPP, the next phase is NexSys (Next Generation Energy Systems).
