Acceptable ID Documents


Do I need to submit ID with my vetting form?

Yes, we are required to verify your identity. You can attach certified copies when submitting your form. 


What proof of ID and address documents are acceptable?

You must provide us with a certified copy of your ID as follows:

 

Photo ID and Date of Birth, any of the following:

  • Passport 
  • Driving Licence
  • A certificate of naturalisation 
  • A national identity card (please note this is only relevant to EU/EEA/Swiss citizens).
 

You must also provide a proof of address document which must be dated within the last 6 months and shows your name and current address. Acceptable documents are :

  • A bank statement (excluding Revolut).
  • A credit union statement
  • A credit union passbook
  • Postal correspondence from SUSI
  • Utility bills (please note mobile phone bills are not accepted)
  • Correspondence from government departments
  • A letter from the local council confirming residency
  • A letter from your embassy.

Both ID documents must be validated by UCD Admissions. To validate your document, please bring the original document and a photocopy to the Student Desk. The photocopy will be stamped and signed as an accurate copy of the original.
