The School of Psychology at University College Dublin recently held an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Picture Competition, inviting students to capture how the School fosters a culture of EDI. We launched this competition to encourage students to express, through photography, what EDI means to them and how they see it reflected in our environments. The entries were both creative and inspiring.
We celebrate the students’ creative perspectives and hope the exhibition sparks an important conversation about inclusivity and belonging. We are keen to hear from you on the impact this important initiative might have had. Please use this link to share your views and perspectives: (opens in a new window)https://forms.
Beauty in the sky - Emilie Boostrom
This photo taken in Dublin City centre, shows the magnificent beauty of the sky. Although the color is not what is usually expected at look like, we can appreciate the beauty it holds. Similarly, every person on this earth has a unique beauty that no one can dispise and this shows the importance of embracing our differences.
It’s not always pretty - Lynn Kelly
I wanted to show the reality that’s not often shown of living with a chronic disability and how it often looks like this. It’s not pretty nor nice to look at but it’s the reality for so many students with disabilities.
Sunset of inclusion - Hafsa Adnan
The serene sunset over the diverse landscape of boats and buildings symbolizes harmony and inclusion. Just as the sun lights equally across the sky. The blending of hues reminding of the interconnectedness of individuals with different perspectives, fostering unity in diversity.
