Brexit

We still don’t know exactly what is going to happen on whether there will be a deal or no deal Brexit.

What we do know is regardless if there is a deal or no deal Brexit there will be customs formality’s for shipments coming from the UK to Ireland or the opposite way and even using the UK as a land bridge.

If a Deal is done it will be most likely the following-

Coming from the UK or going to UK -

There will have to be an export declaration done on the UK side. ( this will be done by whoever is sending the goods or there customs brokers )

And again if it is going to the UK there will have to be an Export declaration done ( which we can provide or whoever the shipment is going with Fedex etc I am sure they will provide )

There will have to be an import declaration done in Ireland when the goods arrive or are in transit and we can provide this like the normal set up we have at the moment.

The only issue with this is there might be some delays with customs and revenue.

If there is a deal it looks like there will be no import vat or duty to be paid however if there is a no deal it looks like duty and vat will be applicable for all shipments coming into the EU from the UK.

If you could ask whoever is purchasing the goods in the college to provide myself and Steve contact details below so we can be sent paperwork in advance and create the clearance once in transit or when it arrives.

The paperwork provided by the sender will have to have correct weights and dims of the goods and also the correct HS commodity code.
