Dr Max Ditroilo authors most cited article of 2025 in Journal of Sports Sciences
Congratulations to UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science Dr Max Ditroilo, who authored the most cited article of 2025 in the Journal of Sports Sciences. The paper, published in April 2025 in the Journal of Sports Sciences, was also one of the most downloaded articles from the previous three years.

The article "(opens in a new window)Exploratory research in sport and exercise science: Perceptions, challenges, and recommendations", examines exploratory research and provides guidelines for carrying out and transparently writing up an exploratory study.
The research was carried out with Dr Cristian Mesquida, Eindhoven University of Technology, Grant Abt, former Professor at the University of Hull, and Daniel Lakens, Full Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology.
