Alumni Supporting Students
Huge thanks to our incredible SPHPSS alumni who are always so generous with their time and willingness to support and help our current students. In September, MSc Sport Management alumni Sinead Gordon (Sport Ireland), Martin O’Brien (Future Ticketing) and Darragh Cunningham (Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth), joined us at the National Handball Centre at Croke Park where they shared their experiences of UCD and their careers so far with our new MSc Sport Management students. Several other alumni joined us for what was a fabulous kick-off to the coming year.
In October, we launched our inaugural Sport & Exercise Management Alumni Mentorship programme. Students on our BSc Sport & Exercise Management course will be mentored by some of our incredible alumni including Colin Armstrong (Swim Ireland), Craig Derham (Verve: The Live Agency), Rob Burke (Leinster Rugby), Orla Haran (Crystal Palace FC), Nora Stapleton (Sport Ireland), Jeff Lahart (Special Olympics International), Vinny Hammond (Irish Rugby Football Union) and Ben Mulholland (Red Bull). Sincere thanks to our alumni mentors who are giving their time and enthusiasm so generously and the UCD Alumni team together with SPHPSS Dr Andre Andrijiw who brought this initiative together.
