Associate Professor Cliona O'Sullivan

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR CLIONA O'SULLIVAN

UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science

Dr Cliona O’Sullivan is a Physiotherapist and Associate Professor in the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science in University College Dublin, Ireland. She is Programme Director of the UCD Professional Masters in Physiotherapy Programme.

Dr O'Sullivan is a champion for Rehabilitation in International Health and collaborates with International Organisations and Universities to strengthen research and education in this field. She is a member of the World Health Organisation Technical Working Group for the Package of Priority Rehabilitation Interventions. She is co-lead on the rehabilitation component of a Horizon 2020 funded project, '(opens in a new window)(opens in a new window)'Building Resilience Through Education' with Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia. 

She has developed international interdisciplinary clinical placements in India and Uganda with (opens in a new window)(opens in a new window)UCD Volunteers Overseasand a partnership with Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda. From 2016-2018, she was (opens in a new window)(opens in a new window)SUDA education mentor with World Confederation for Physical Therapy and Humanity and Inclusion in Niger.  She has served on the Board of UCDVO and is currently a board member of UCD Centre for Humanitarian Action.

Teaching awards include a University Fellowship in Teaching and Academic Development (2019-2021), UCD College Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, (2017) and UCD Nominee for Universitas 21 Excellence in Health Science Teaching (2015 and 2016).
