Our colleague Associate Professor Timothy Mooney was an invited contributor to a recent episode of the BBC Radio 4 series ‘In Our Time’, presented by Melvyn Bragg.
The episode was devoted to the great French philosopher of embodiment Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and Tim’s co-contributors were Tom Baldwin, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of York, and Komarine Romdenh-Romluc, Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield.
Amongst the topics covered were Merleau-Ponty’s critique of objective thought and his conceptions of the phenomenal and habitual body, of action, of language and of the lived world as a realm of possibilities.
The programme was broadcast on the 27th and 30th of March, and is now available as an extended podcast on the BBC website.
