Prof. Jonathan Drennan wins UCD Research Impact Competition

Prof. Jonathan Drennan, Full Professor of Nursing at the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems was awarded the 2023 UCD Research Impact Award yesterday at a special ceremony held in UCD Belfield Campus. 

Prof. Drennan, along with colleagues and collaborators in University College Cork, the Department of Health, the Chief Nursing Office, the University of Southhampton, and many clinical sites were involved in developing and testing a safe nurse staffing framework for hospital wards and emergency departments in Ireland, significantly improving patient care and staff wellbeing. The framework has now become national policy and is being implemented across Ireland's hospital network.
