Cancer Biology

Cancer Biology Block

Cancer biology relies on anatomy as a detailed understanding of tissue architecture,
organ systems, and cellular location is essential for both diagnosis and therapeutic
targeting of cancer. Cancer progression, including metastasis, is fundamentally an
anatomical process involving the movement of cancer cells from a primary site
through anatomical structures such as the lymphatic and circulatory systems to
secondary metastatic sites.

Within the anatomy section, Dr Aleksandar Kristic, Dr Arman Rahman, and Dr
Stephen Thorpe lead research groups working on diverse aspects of cancer
research.
