UPDATES HERE

Residences

Accommodation booking dates, for students starting their studies in September 2021, have not yet been confirmed. Students will receive detailed information via email, including details regarding move-in dates and fees, in advance of bookings opening from the Residence Team.

Information on the types of residences available can be viewed here: https://www.ucd.ie/residences/. There are also virtual tours of the various on-campus accommodation options available. Price plans and payment breakdowns are on this link: https://www.ucd.ie/residences/bookings/finance/

The accommodation information below was recently added to our FAQ page:

"Currently, if you are travelling to Ireland from or through a country which is on the government list of high-risk countries, you are required to pre-book accommodation in a designated quarantine facility, and to pre-pay for your stay. This mandatory hotel quarantine arrangement is managed by the State and is a legal requirement. This requirement may change over the coming months and countries may be added or removed from this list, therefore we advise that you monitor the government website regularly.

If you are travelling from or through a country which is not on the list of high-risk countries, you are still required to quarantine for 14 days on arrival; however this does not have to be at a designated quarantine facility managed by the State. Details about on-campus accommodation options will be published shortly on the UCD Residences website.”

Health Screening

As you will know, Medicine students must fulfil the programme’s Health Screening requirements. The UCD Student Health Service are currently reviewing the process for September 2021 and will be in touch in the summer with the newly confirmed arrangements. In the meantime, students are advised to keep an eye on the Health Screening website for updated information.

Garda (police) Vetting

Students from abroad, or those who have resided outside of Ireland for six months or longer since turning 18, will be required to submit Police Certificates from every country other than Ireland they have resided in since the age of 18. We would recommend that students begin obtaining these documents soon after accepting admission to one of our programmes. If you are unsure of how to obtain these documents from a particular country, please contact the Student Vetting team via the Student Desk with the names of the countries for which you require details. For more information, go to our Garda Vetting pages.

Facebook Group

We have created a Facebook Group for new incoming Undergraduate Entry and Graduate Entry Medicine students to get to know each other before arriving in September. Please follow the link to join and get chatting.

Information Webinars

The School of Medicine International Team are organising a series of information webinars in April and June during which we hope to give updates on plans for September 2021.
