228 graduates were conferred with undergraduate and graduate medicine (MB BCh. BAO) degrees on Friday 1st May. 22 nationalities were represented amongst those graduating including 70 international students. However in line with C-19 related restrictions, the ceremony which is always one of the high points of the School’s calendar, took place as a virtual event, for the first time in the School’s 165 year history. The ceremony was also brought forward by six weeks, instead of taking place in mid-June as is the tradition, which was to allow for the newly qualified doctors to take up internships within the Irish healthcare service and apply their expertise and skills as the world responds to contain the pandemic.
51 graduates were conferred with BSc Radiography degrees and 55 MSc graduates from the School’s Computed Tomography, MRI and Ultrasound programmes were also conferred on Monday 15th June. As part of the ceremony the then Minister for Health, Simon highlighted the challenging frontline position of Radiographers during the pandemic and their integral role in shaping future healthcare service.
22 graduates were conferred with BSc BHLS degrees, as part of the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science Conferring Ceremony, on Thurs 5th September
