Congratulations to UCD School of Medicine’s Matthew Hartnett and RUMC’s (Malaysia & UCD campus) Jarren Lu Yi Sheng on being awarded the prestigious Reuben Harvey Prize by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI).
The Reuben Harvey Prize was presented at a special ceremony at No. 6 Kildare Street during the RCPI’s Annual Conference on Wednesday, 15 October 2025.
The Prize is presented annually to students who achieve the highest marks in their class for final year examinations in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics.
The Reuben Harvey Prize was established in 1882 in memory of Dr Reuben Joshua Harvey, anatomist and physiologist who died in 1881 at the age of just 36.
Matthew Hartnett, UCD, is from Naas, Co. Kildare. Having now completed his studies, Matthew is currently completing his intern year at St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
Jarren Lu Yi Sheng, RUMC, UCD Campus and Malaysia, was awarded in absentia. Class of 2025 at UCD. Jarren was President of the 2021/2022 UCD Malaysian Society.
