Congratulations to Stage 4 UEM student, Salma Youssef, who has just won the People’s Choice Award for her ePoster ‘Pediatric Renal Artery Stenosis: Mid-to Long-Term Outcomes Following Renal Artery Angioplasty’ at ISET 2024.
ISET is the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy and took place in Miami, Florida from 22 – 25 January 2024. As stated on the website, ‘for 36 years, the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET) has been a meeting place for experts, now and in the future, to discuss and debate new techniques, technologies, and procedures that further improve patient care.
ISET welcomes fellow interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and their teams for pioneering endovascular approaches, featuring extended live case time and providing education in the learning format that you value.’
In the summer of 2023, Salma worked on her research project under the mentorship of Dr. Matthew Hawkins, MD, FSIR, at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital and the Emory University Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Division of Interventional Radiology and Image-Guided Medicine. She observed and learned about procedures in the pediatric IR suite, including sclerotherapy, percutaneous nephrostomy, and much more. Salma presented her research at the UCD SSRA 2023 Presentation Night and received the Martin Gaensler Scholarship Award.
Salma is founder and President of the UCD Interventional Radiology Interest Group.
Congratulations to Salma on her award!
