Paper Submission

MIUA 2026 invites submission of high-quality long papers and abstracts containing original contributions to knowledge in the topics suited to the MIUA 2026. The conference will be held at University College Dublin. The topics of interests are listed below, but not limited to:

  • Novel methods in medical image computing
  • Novel methods in computer-assisted interventions
  • Data engineering in medical imaging
  • Surgical data science
  • Trustworthy AI for medicine and surgery
  • Imaging-related clinical studies
  • Image-guided robotic surgery
  • Multimodality understanding and reasoning in medicine and surgery
  • Clinical implementation and monitoring of imaging solutions
  • Novel medical imaging techniques
  • Foundation models in medical imaging
  • Generalisable machine learning in medical imaging
  • Algorithmic fairness in medical imaging
  • Robustness and reliability for under-represented and emerging diseases
  • Real-time AI for medicine and surgery
  • Biomedical image computing for neglected diseases

MIUA 2026 papers will be published in the (opens in a new window)Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) proceedings volume.

Paper Guidelines

Regular papers: Authors are invited to submit full papers of length between 8 and 15 pages (1 column – the LNCS template, (opens in a new window)word and latex, (opens in a new window)overleaf ) and following the (opens in a new window)Springer Author Guidelines, showing original research contributions under the topics of the conference. All submissions will be double-blind peer-reviewed and accepted articles will be published as MIUA Proceedings by the Springer Publishing Group. Supplementary Material: Authors are permitted to submit supplementary material with their papers in accordance with the (opens in a new window)LNCS Guidelines.

Camera-ready submissions: All accepted papers must follow the below guidelines to submit your camera-ready papers –

  1. Your paper should contain your full authors names, full affiliation and ORCID ID (if available). Your submission should contain source files (e.g., latex files or word document). Please read the "Instructions for proceedings authors.pdf" carefully and make sure that you follow these instructions.   2. You should print, sign, and scan the "Licence to Publish Proceedings Papers". The license will be provided upon notification of acceptance. 

MIUA continues to foster fairness, diversity, and inclusion within its community. Submissions from typically underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged.
