Welcome to The OM Hub, a platform dedicated to innovative projects, collaborations, and initiatives that explore, deconstruct, and reimagine masculinities. We aim to cultivate a space to share research, creative partnerships, and community-driven actions around masculinities.

Collaborations

Gender Studies at UCD, with a strong international reputation for research, scholarship and engagement in public policy and activism, engages with current debates on gender and social justice through theoretical and policy oriented perspectives on feminism, masculinities, queer and sexualities studies.

Engaging Men in EDI, seeks to facilitate meaningful discussions and explore strategies to encourage and enhance male involvement in all aspects of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.  The group aim to create an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.  

(opens in a new window)What Does He Need? is a project by artist, writer and educator Dr Fiona Whelan,  Brokentalkers theatre company and Rialto Youth Project developed in collaboration with a range of Dublin city Network of individuals and organisations in the areas of arts and culture, youth work, community development and education, aiming to create a public dialogue about masculinities. A core strand of the project is the (opens in a new window)Boys in the Making Programme, developed by Whelan and Rialto Youth Project which aims to explore, communicate and learn from the lived experiences and knowledge of boys and young men.  

The (opens in a new window)Men’s Development Network (MDN) is a non-profit organisation headquartered in Waterford City, with a key focus on promoting change and equality across society. MDN engages men and boys on their health, wellbeing, gender equality, and the prevention of gender-based violence and violence against women. We empower men to take control of their lives and make positive choices through various programmes, initiatives, and community-based projects. The core national programmes implemented by MDN include the Men’s Development and Men’s Health Programmes, the MEND Domestic Violence Intervention Programme, the White Ribbon Ireland, the National Male Advice Line, and a Men’s Counselling Service.

(opens in a new window)The Trans Research Association of Ireland (TRAI) is an interdisciplinary research network for trans researchers in Ireland, researchers who work with Irish transness, and trans Irish researchers at home and abroad. It seeks to provide a nexus of connection for dissemination and collaboration in an under-researched field, as well as support and resources that may be helpful to members of the research network.
