LGBTQI+ Staff Liaison Officer
An LGBT Staff Liaison Officer was proposed and approved at the network’s EGM on 20 July 2010. The terms of reference for this role are as follows:
- Act as the key point of contact for the Network for staff in UCD
- Liaise with UCD HR and UCD Senior Management Team on equality and diversity issues of relevance to LGBT staff
- Where appropriate seek representation on any university working groups or committees which are of relevance to LGBT staff and which will assist in furthering the Network’s aims
- Act as the public face of the Network and liaise with the media and other organisations outside UCD
- Play a Network leadership role with the Co-Chairs
- Plan the activities of the Network with the Co-Chairs
- Work with the other committee members to prepare for, organise and stage the LGBT Network launch in 2011
- Sanction Network expenditure (all expenditure of network funds requires the approval of at least 1 Co-Chair and the Staff Liaison Officer)
Term:The term of office will be for an initial period of six months with an extension of twelve months thereafter
Nomination: The nominating body will be the UCD LGBT Staff Network who will select the nominee at their AGM (or if required at an EGM) in the relevant year – by consensus if possible or failing that by secret ballot.
Remuneration: The post will be non-remunerative.
Facilitation: The holder will be entitled to release from work duties, expenses, etc. as per the usual norms agreed by UCD HR for trade union representatives and subject to approval by the Vice-President for Staff.
The terms of reference for this role will be reviewed periodically.
Joint Chairperson
Joint Chairpersons were proposed and approved at the network’s EGM on 20 July 2010. The terms of reference for this role are as follows:
- To act as co-chair for the UCD LGBT Staff Network
- Play a Network leadership role with the other co-chair and the staff liaison officer
- Plan the activities of the Network with the other co-chair and the staff liaison officer
- Organise Network meetings/events with the other co-chair
- Write up and distribute action points of Network meetings (non-social meetings)
- Work with the other committee members to prepare for, organise and stage the LGBT Network launch in 2011
