Gender equality and our Athena Swan award
The Law School is fully committed to gender equality at all levels and in all aspects of university life.
The Athena Swan Charter is a framework which is used around the world to support and transform gender equality within higher education and research. The Law School was delighted to receive the Athena Swan Bronze Award in 2022 in acknowledgement of our commitment to enhancing gender equality in the School. As part of the process, the School conducted research to identify any issues contributing to gender inequality within the School and developed a Gender Equality Action Plan to address these issues (you’ll find our current Gender Equality Action Plan here).
Having obtained the Bronze Award, we are currently implementing our Action Plan and measuring its impact on gender equality in the School. We are also working towards attaining the Bronze Renewal Award in 2025 as our next step.
