The official character for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, MYAKU-MYAKU paid a special visit to our campus in Belfield and met with students and senior academics on the 14th of April.
As soon as MYAKU-MYAKU arrived, they instantly connected and interacted with our students (primarily from the UCD Japanese Society & the module “Gateways to Japan”), as well as neighbours, children and doggies who happened to be on the campus. College Principal, College of Social Sciences and Law, Prof. Niamh Moore-Cherry, a visiting scholar from Hokkaido University, Prof. Naomi Chi (Graduate School of Public Policy), Deputy Registrar, Prof. Emma Sokell and Director, UCD Public Policy Programme, Assoc. Prof. Kodate (UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice) gave MYAKU-MYAKU a warm UCD welcome.
