The UCD IT Services photographer provides photographic services to the UCD community. The images are used to support teaching and learning, advertising, public relations, promotional activities and research.
We also provide iconic and general use images of the University on the UCD Image Catalogue site.
Images are supplied on a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license. Images can be adapted and build upon non-commercially, as long as they credit UCD and license their new creations under the identical terms.

UCD Image Catalogue Access
UCD Users
You do not need to enter any details on the landing page. Choose 'Login using SSO' which will launch the UCD Connect login box where you can enter your username and password. Then agree to share your info with Canto.
You should shortly receive an email letting you know you have access to the Image Catalogue.
If you experience any problems accessing the image catalogue please email vincent.hoban@ucd.ie.
Non UCD Users
Access can be requested by emailing vincent.hoban@ucd.ie.

- Can I use the images on non-UCD websites or publications?
The images are free to use in promotion of the University’s activities. Where possible credit should be given: “Vincent Hoban, IT Services, University College Dublin” - How much do you charge for photo shoots?
UCD IT Services photographer is a free service in support of university teaching, marketing and research activities. - Do you do staff head shots?
We can do location portraits for Colleges, Schools, Institutes and Admin units. - Do you do out of hours event photography?
Unfortunately, we do not have the staff to accommodate event photography. However, we can supply contacts for freelance photographers that work with UCD on a regular basis. - How do I schedule a shoot?

The sooner, the better, to avoid disappointment. I am often booked out two or three weeks in advance and it can take time to schedule locations and participants. - How long does the whole process take?
Typically, photo assignments are completed in a few hours. Images may take three or four working days to process and edit, depending on workload. - What happens after my photos are taken?
You will receive a link with proof images. You may be asked to make a selection which will be edited to your liking. After editing you will be sent a link where you can download the final images.
