OCRE Cloud for Research

HEAnet have partnered on a pan-European collaboration with GÉANT to put in place the OCRE procurement framework for public cloud which you can use. This will save you time, money and give you peace of mind while using this procurement framework.

You can purchase directly from the cloud vendor of your choice without having to go through a lengthy tendering process. More details on the Heanet OCRE framework, also called the IaaS+ framework, can be viewed here.

The AWS Educate Starter Account is a Program which offers UCD students free access to a specified, capped amount of Amazon Web Services(AWS) cloud resources. The AWS Educate Starter Account does not require a credit card or payment option, and usage is capped with a specific amount of AWS credits. Once you are successfully registered for the program you receive $100 of credit for each calendar year of your degree.

The AWS Educate program may be of benefit to students who are required to complete assignments requiring computational resources that exceed the limits of a normal laptop or require access to specific software used on alternative operating systems. The Program lasts for the duration of the students degree.
