Windows 10 will be unsupported from 14 October 2025

Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025. After this date, no further security updates will be issued for this version of the operating system. Under Device Health enforcement, any computer running an unsupported operating system will be unable to access university digital resources.

Supported Windows Versions in UCD

IT Services supports only the following Microsoft Windows versions:

• Windows 11 Education versions 24H2
• Windows 11 Pro version 24H2
• Windows 10 Education or Pro version 22H2* until 14 October 2025

IT Services do not support other versions of Windows such as Home, Mobile, LTSC or other editions not listed above.

Device Upgrade or Replacement Guidance

Some desktop and Laptop computers purchased recently may be eligible for upgrade to Windows 11. Older computers are unlikely to meet the system requirements for Windows 11 and are typically out of warranty. These older devices should be replaced before October 2025 to ensure continued access to university systems and services.
