UCD Institutional Research has the following roles and responsibilities
External & Internal Reporting
Provides meaningful, accurate and timely information and research to stakeholders including:
- The UCD University Management Team and Governing Authority
- Colleges, Schools and key functions within the University
- National and international agencies
- Support internal and external reporting requirements
Statutory Reporting
Official reporting to Government agencies such as the Department of Education and Science and the Higher Education Authority.
Planning & Special Projects
- Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the University’s strategic plan.
- Support the quality enhancement and strategic planning cycles of Colleges and Schools.
- Decision support studies
- University KPIs and benchmarking
Quality Assurance
- Provides statistical data and information to support Schools and Units going through the Periodic Quality Review process
- Provides the highest quality of institutional research services with a commitment for customer service
Surveys & Survey Analysis
- Organises, administers and reports on university participation in national and international surveys eg StudentSurvey.ie, EuroStudent.
- Develops, conducts and analyses data for a wide variety of UCD operational surveys, e.g. Student Feedback on Modules surveys, EDI staff and student surveys, Covid staff and student surveys, Hybrid Working survey and a wide variety of other ad-hoc surveys
Rankings
Responsible for supplying data to University Ranking agencies and analysis of results
