UCD Connect Accounts

All UCD staff and students need a username and password to use services on the UCD network. This is known as your Connect username and password. This gives you access to:

  • A UCD computer account
  • A UCD email account
  • Many applications on the network (including Brightspace, InfoHub, etc.)

All non-student accounts will be protected by Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) as standard. It is a mandatory requirement for all new non-student users to enroll in MFA at the time of account set up.

Setting up Your UCD Connect Email Account

As soon as your HR record has been completed, you will receive an email to your personal email address from UCD IT Services containing your Personnel number inviting you to activate your new UCD Connect account and email address. A step-by-step guide on this process is available on the Activating your UCD Connect Account webpage. Your Connect username and password gives you access to a number of important services including Brightspace, InfoHub for reports and many other applications on the network.

IT Services have created a dedicated webpage for all staff who are New to UCD.

Information for Staff Working Remotely

UCD has prepared information to help staff securely access the main IT services while working remotely enabling staff to access to all IT services in the same way they are accessed on campus using a secure VPN

Brightspace

The Brightspace Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) provides e-learning services to staff and students. This platform is used by facilitators to upload module content, documents, make announcements and set assignments and for students to upload assignments. Use your Connect username and password to access Brightspace. For more information, please refer to the helpful guide to Brightspace.

InfoHub

InfoHub is an information and services portal that allows staff members to view and amend the personal details of their staff profile, apply for a UCD parking permit, manage their UCard account and book shared teaching spaces on campus.

It allows you to view student class lists and provides a targeted communications facility and delivers a range of operational and management reports covering all the business areas of the university.

Grade Entry

Facilitators are required to enter grade into the UCD grading system within two weeks of the assignments being submitted. All Innovation Academy modules are on a pass/fail grading system. For more information, check out the helpful support guides on Grade Entry.
