Irish Start-Up Proveye Selected for AWS Clean Energy Accelerator - Generative AI Energy Lab
Proveye, an Irish tech start-up which has developed an AI-driven remote sensing platform to enable more predictable and profitable decision-making for agriculture and the environment, today announced that it has been selected for the AWS Clean Energy Accelerator 4.0 programme, Generative AI Energy Lab edition.
Proveye is among a cohort of 15 global start-ups chosen from over 800 applications from more than 70 countries for the programme. As part of the Generative AI Energy Lab Proveye will be connecting and collaborating with AWS enterprise customers to test and deploy its solution at scale.
The AWS Clean Energy Accelerator is centred on the needs of enterprises looking to accelerate their energy transition through emerging technologies. A high-velocity, non-equity dilutive enterprise accelerator is designed to spur co-innovation through partnerships and trials between leading Energy, Utilities and Industrial corporations and clean energy and climate tech innovators.
Proveye, headquartered at NovaUCD in Dublin, was founded by Jerome O’Connell and Professor Nick Holden as spin-out from the UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering.
The company an Enterprise Ireland high-potential start-up has been supported to date with funding from ComOp, Enterprise Ireland and ESA.
Proveye’s proprietary market-leading remote sensing technology enables independent and highly accurate measurement of grassland and biodiversity at scale to provide frequent and empirical evidence of the performance of nature-based solutions to climate change and biodiversity restoration across the world's grasslands.
Jerome O’Connell, CEO and co-founder, Proveye, said, “We are delighted to have been selected for the Generative AI Energy Lab edition of the AWS Clean Accelerator programme given the huge number of applications from around the world. It is a fantastic endorsement for Proveye’s AI-powered platform and the work our team is doing not only here in Ireland but internationally.
Through this programme we will be engaging enterprise organisations that are looking to measure, monitor and report on the success of large nature-based projects for the purpose of habitat restoration.”
Proveye, which previously completed the ESA Business Incubation Centre (BIC) Ireland programmme, was named the Start-Up Innovator of the Year Award at Enterprise Ireland’s Innovation Arena competition at the 2023 National Ploughing Championships.
