Innovation Pathway

NovaUCD provides a series of programmes for inventors and researchers to progress a great idea along a commercial pathway, identifying funding and attracting resources to create a high potential start-up company. 

The Innovation Pathway includes, Roadshows, Innovation Sprints, the Customer Discovery Programme and the VentureLaunch Accelerator Programme.

Hear from UCD researchers and entrepreneurs who have successfully commercialised their research. Hear from organisations who can fund your research.

Roadshows, which last 1-2 hrs, take place monthly across campus.

NovaUCD at Night

Innovation Sprints

Explore the commercial potential of your idea, the market opportunity and figure out the next steps. The NovaUCD team can support you in identifying and applying for funding to progress your research towards commercialisation.

Four 1-day innovation sprints per year are held at NovaUCD.

NovaUCD Boardroom

Customer Discovery

Undertake early customer discovery and engagement to explore needs and solution value. Runs in collaboration with UCD postgraduate business interns, each start-up team hosts an intern to support market research and outreach activities.

The customer discovery programme takes place once per year at NovaUCD. Five to six projects participate on each programme which consists of 4 x 3 hr workshops delivered between June and August.

VentureLaunch

The aim of the VentureLaunch Accelerator programme, which takes place once per-year over 8-weeks with up to 7 participating projects, is to support the forming of start-up teams to get ready to incorporate their new businesses, raise funding and launch sustainable and profitable new ventures.
