Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Information and Communication Studies, project: DiversiF-AI-R.

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Information and Communication Studies. DiversiF-AI-R is embarking on a 3-year ground-breaking project to address intersectional fairness in AI and define new approaches for policy makers, industry, AI auditors and educational institutions. The consortium consists of eight partners from various EU countries, with UCD leading a work package concerting concepts of Intersectional fairness, IS bias for AI Auditing. This role will suit a Post-Doctoral Researcher with expertise in AI Ethics, Digital Policy & Law, Social Science, Artificial Intelligence or Data Analytics. The ideal candidate will have cross-disciplinary experience with an understanding of theories of social justice, AI and issues of bias in AI. The role involves identifying and generating a typology of bias in AI and related harms from across disciplines and mapping regulatory, ethical, and technical standards related to AI, bias and potential harms.
This is an academic research role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching. Salary Range: €42,783 -€49,177 per annum. Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
