Teaching Fellow, UCD School of Information & Communication Studies, Temporary Special purpose maternity leave cover Approx. 5 Months commencing Ideally October 2024

Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a Teaching Fellow within UCD School of Information & Communication Studies.
The School of Information & Communication Studies is seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching Fellow to cover maternity leave to fulfil teaching needs in our school. The appointee will undertake postgraduate and undergraduate teaching as well as supervision of Masters student modules and projects. The Teaching Fellow will deliver modules taken by students on the MSc in Information Systems programme such as Interactive Dashboards in Python, Text Analytics for Information Systems, Introduction to LLMs and GenAI. The appointee will also deliver modules for undergraduate students such as Informatics and may also be asked to assist in the development of new modules in accordance with their expertise.
The School of Information & Communication Studies ranks in the Top 50 LIS schools worldwide in QS rankings and has a suite of degree programmes covering Communication and Media, Human-Computer Interaction, Library and Information studies, Digital Policy and Information Systems, with a growing community of students from all over the world.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
o Teach core and optional modules for programmes in ICS curriculum to include – Interactive Dashboards in
Python, Text Analytics for Information Systems, Introduction to LLMs and GenAI and Informatics and to
design new modules for further programme expansion as directed
o Delivery of lectures and tutorials in person according to the set timetable
o Design, Preparation and grading of assessment to include student examinations and delivery of feedback
o Supervision of projects
o Undertake administrative duties and student communication as required
o Other responsibilities as assigned by Head of School.

Fixed Salary: €42,026 Per Annum
