Call for Papers | Crisis Project Workshop | Aesthetics of Polycrisis: Practices of Resistance and Resilience | Poznań 13 March 2026
We invite participants to join us in exploring how the aesthetics of polycrisis can become a
practice of resistance, resilience, and speculative worlding. Moving beyond linear narratives
of threat and redemption, the workshop-symposium will consider how aesthetic, literary, and
social imaginaries generate situated forms of response-ability—foregrounding entanglement,
uncertainty, and more-than-human alliances.
Building on dialogues initiated during the conferences in Dublin and Tallinn, the Poznań
meeting will focus on creative and critical responses to polycrisis and permacrisis developed
across art, intellectual, and activist contexts. It will also contribute to the ongoing preparation
for the Paris conference in May 2026.
Together, we will:
– explore the aesthetics of policrisis as a critical, relational, and community-based practice;
– discuss the role of aesthetic imagination and speculative worlding in times of uncertainty;
– strengthen our research network and outline future collaborative projects;
– initiate work on a collective publication emerging from this shared inquiry.
Format
The Poznań meeting will take the form of a seminar-workshop with roundtable discussions,
encouraging in-depth, participatory dialogue. Short 10-minute statements will serve as
points of departure for collective debate.
