Graduate Studies has secured a place for UCD in the UK’s £4.6million RSVP initiative (Next Generation Research SuperVison Project). Dr Janet Carton represented UCD as co-lead at the inaugural meeting at Kings College London in October. Partners in UCD’s consortia (AIE-RSVP) include UU, QUB, Karolinska Institutet and Orpheus. RSVP addresses four key challenges in research supervision;
- group/team supervision
- disciplinary differences and practices
- supervising different research degrees and
- understanding and combating poor supervision.
RSVP is the largest project of its kind on research supervision, by funding and consortia participation. It is a key collaboration for UCD and a logical next step towards informing UCD’s CPD provision for its growing research supervisor community.
