UCD researchers will take part in five interdisciplinary projects funded under the Una Europa Seed Fund Call 2025.
In all, ten interdisciplinary projects were awarded a total of €383,579 under the Fund, which is managed by Una Europa. Una Europa is a European University Alliance consisting of 11 research-intensive universities, including UCD. The Seed Fund aims to support long-term collaborative and interdisciplinary activities across the partner universities.

UCD is a partner on five of the funded projects, in the areas of Data Science & AI and Future Materials & Technologies. Each project was awarded up to EUR40,000. The funded projects are:
- ALMATCLEAN: An Interdisciplinary Alliance on Materials for Clean Energy
- ANNOTATE: An avatar-eNabled persoNalised apprOach to meTabolic dysfunction-Associated steaTotic livEr disease
- Democracy and AI
- GAMEX: Generative AI Modeling for Extreme Events: Statistical Foundations
- WATCH: Web tracking and Algorithmic profiling: Trends, Challenges, Horizons
