We are monitoring the changes being implemented by the new administration. For updates on this, or if you have any questions, please see the (opens in a new window)FSA website. As more information is made available to higher education institutions, we will update the FAQs below.

University College Dublin is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to certify loans under the ‘William D. Ford Direct Loan’ Program. Under this Program, eligible students can obtain federally supported Subsidized & Unsubsidized Direct loans and Direct PLUS loans.  Federally supported loans are made by the US Department of Education rather than by a private lender/bank.

REMEMBER: Each new academic year requires a fresh FAFSA and a new loan application to obtain new loans.
