Writing Retreat for Geary PhDs and Postdoctoral Researchers
Are you in the midst of writing your thesis, an article, or another writing project? Want to meet and write with others doing the same?
Due to the success of our recent Writing Retreat, the Geary Institute is pleased to offer a full day writing retreat for its PhD and Postdoc community on Friday 18th October from 9.45am - 3.45pm in room A201, Hannah Sheehy Skeffington Building. Coffee, tea, and lunch will be provided.
These are not teaching sessions, you will not be taught ‘how to write’ during the retreat, instead writing retreats offer peer-supported, protected time to focus on your writing goals. They are a space where members of the academic community get to meet and work together in a supportive environment.
The event will be facilitated by Dr Laura Foley, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Geary Institute. Laura has been running Writing Retreats since 2018. This is a peer-led event, where Laura will be writing as well as facilitating.
If you have never been to a writing retreat, then we recommend that you give one a go, many writers find them helpful with improving focus and productivity.
Places are limited so to register, please email: (opens in a new window)laura.foley@ucd.ie
