Pro Nutrition Study

This study is looking to see if a new food supplement can improve appetite in older adults.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking healthy adults aged 60 years or older – BMI from 20 to 25 - to take part in this study. If you don’t know your BMI, we can calculate that for you on (opens in a new window)this link. Grandmother and child

What’s involved?

The study requires attending 4 morning visits at the study centre in University College Dublin. Participants will be asked to consume a food supplement on each day and provide blood samples, collected by trained professionals. Each visit takes approximately 5 hours and includes lots of rest time. All meals are provided and you will be compensated for your time. You will also be provided with your results on body composition and metabolic rate.. 

Who is leading this research? 

This study is led by Dr Katy Horner within UCD’s Institute of Food and Health and
carried out by Food for Health Ireland researcher Anna Quinn. The study is funded by
Enterprise Ireland’s Technology Centre, Food for Health Ireland.
