I have just my completed my undergraduate studies, obtaining a degree theoretical physics from Trinity College Dublin. I have developed a strong mathematical skill set throughout this course, including a good grounding in numerical analysis. My final year Capstone project (attached) explored Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms and their implementation in different languages, namely Python and C++. I also did a summer research project with engCORE at SETU on modelling raindrop erosion on wind turbine blades.
My part of the FlowDyn Offshore Dynamic Cables project is working on the computational mechanics side of things. Working under Prof. Philip Cardiffs guidance, where my aim is to develop numerical models for the cables using the OpenFOAM software package.
